Punto GT Project or Donor £300 in LA14

For Sale is a 1996 N reg Punto GT, it’s an early GT2 (no speaker pods in doors) Red/fade to Pink no TAX or MOT – V5 present

I bought this car at the same time as MY GT3 to use for parts but I didn’t need it I paid £300 hence its for sale price, originally it wasn’t running due to fuelling problems but after reading Tom’s thread when he had problems I just cleaned up the fuse holder, replaced the fuel filler pipe on the tank and off it went.

Start with the bad bits

Paint faded, roof and bumpers are the worst areas
Rust hole in spare tyre well
Small rust hole on N/S floor pan under seat cross member (I have had a good poke around and this is the only hole I could make)
Areas of the floor pan have surface rust which will need treating
Rear brake callipers will require refurbishment or replacing
Rust forming around the top of the wind screen and under the rear screen
Rear spoiler and bonnet vent
Sunroof stuck open the first time I opened it
Battery is dead
No air filter
No radio

Now Good Bits

It runs well
No bad smoke from exhaust
Oil and water are fine
Fuel tank has no leaks
Lights in good condition
Lowered spring and shocks (not new but serviceable)
Good gear box
Atmospheric Dump Valve
Interior looks complete and in good condition
Just needs some time and TLC
Cheap I think…

I will check the compression in the week when it’s not raining
And I forgot to get the mileage but again I will get this when it’s not raining (it’s under a car cover at the mo…)
I have a replacement sunroof and front and rear sporting bumpers in red
It has 4 Team Dynamics Monza alloy wheels but two of these wheels have some minor buckles and will need refurbishment 4 good Avon tyres though

Car is still for sale

It has been a long time since i looked at the car due to my mothers death in the later part of last year,
(car is at my mums and didn't feel like going up to work on it)

I went up today fitted the battery off my GT3 and she started without any problems, left her running for a good 20 minutes then did a comp test, 3 on each cylinder results below

1 = 135 - 135 - 135
2 = 140 - 137 - 137
3 = 130 - 130 - 130
4 = 140 - 140 - 140

cheers mate its bin fully striped down and rebuild no expense spare every nut bolt and seal is new xx i have had it tested with ma new front mounted intercooler at 200 bhp xx
