Now this is the most cowboy thing ive ever done, but litterally just cleanedand rubbed this up abit and gave it a few coats of satin black spray...
    Proper Edd China!
Does look tidier though. I painted my grills with black base coat and 3 coats of laquer and it's worked a treat. Powder coating will be better again if you've got easy access though...

Yeah, it actually dried very satin and not glossy as in the pics, pleased with it even if it was a quick bodge paint job! Did you get the package ok?

TBF TBF, you're car hasn't seen a road or a proper thrash to get the stone chip level up

We have a powdercoater as big as you're house going like the clappers all day so usually ok to get the guys to sling bits n bobs on, we don't do satin often though so its as and when and then need to take the bleeding bumper off to remove them etc etc! Might see if I can get a set of 8 mesh grills and do them, do a swap and then do the originals to sell!

Tell me about it Mike, nothing's cheap, I would like a new front bumper because mines got a sag on the offside but just not worth it when every nob on the MLR and eBay wants £250 for a used bumper!

    Badges back on...

Set about giving the car a thorough wash, rinse, snow foam and rinsed twice, Citrus Power and Imperial lather and a thorough wash with SPA and wookies fist thing.

Clayed just the boot and dissapointed despite a mornings efforts...

Last snap before badges back on...

Took a while to get right, measuring up etc. Taped the vinyls down to the work top then used some masking tape to lift them all off in one go, seems to of worked ok.

Shoved it outside for the morning, neighbours wouldn't appreciate it starting up in the garage at 7am!

I have my original Lancer badge but in an effort to do things properly I think a brand new pre-taped one will be my best next move unless anyone can suggest a decent way to attach this bare plastic one? Low profile tape of somesort, easy to shape etc...

Probably a dumb question, but why park it on carpet patches in the garage?

Its more for parking it after use than storing it, the tyres contract after use from heat expansion etc etc and it can pull the paint up as they shrink again.

Yeah, well it was fooking baked with schite beforehand! No pics but it was pretty grim. Paints getting quite pink again so needs a mega polish.
