For all those with Broom Yellow Punto's.

It's a bit like marmite you either love it or hate it?

What do you love about the colour most?
What do you hate about the colour?

Just a little rant, I spent ages doing the car and then all the bugs are attracted to the yellow, doesn't it feel that your work hasn't paid off. It's a nightmare to match paint to, but it really looks good in all weathers.

What experiences have you had, and how have you combat'ted the issue's?
I am still trying to find a product that makes the car shiny but will deter those bugs. Do you find it the yellow fades to buggery like red cars do?

Here's a thread for all those owning Broom Yellow motors to express their loves and hates for it.

Does look great in the sun but have to admit stands out on a grey and rainy day. Alot of people remember yellow cars don't they? I remember when I went up the shop with my Punto, and I saw a guy parked next to me in a Calibra, I asked him about his Calibra (as own one too), and he said guess what I saw a kitted out yellow one the other day, similar yellow to the Punto, it just looked amazing, it really stood out, then I grinned as I was like, haha, that's ours, good job you didn't have anything bad to say.

Does get dirty easy like white cars, I remember when my partner owned a GTi Escort in Pearlescent Panther Black, it was a nightmare even if it got dirty you could tell it was dirty but when you washed it, it shined like a mirror.

Andrew we'll have to meet up and have some joint shots with our yellow Punto's, you're pretty local, just be nice to meet some other Punto owners. It does fade like crazy, what products do you use for cleaning it, by you saying mop I'm assuming you used G3 cutting compound?

inside my boot it says the colour of my car is giallo ginestra, however when i take the actual paint code printed underneath to any car shop for paint, they say its broom yellow! however my skirts are 'broom yellow' and my car obviously isnt cos theres a slight colour difference!?

My car is Giallo Ginestra. I love it, cos' it looks crazy, and it's crazy fast for a Punto.
It's a little bit childish sometimes tho, I'm 27yo, so, black or silver would be better maybe.
    But, it's for sale anyway.

Giallo Ginestra is Broom Yellow, it's the Italian name.
Code underneath it is the paint code motorfactors use (258 IIRC).

Yellow, red and white cars really are worst for fading subject to sun, to be honest if you get a swatch chart the most accurate colour is where you open a door jamb, or somewhere not exposed to light. It's very hard to get a match but the best thing to do is with the whole car to give it a good t-cut or cutting compound like g3, then g10 finesse afterwards to restore the colour, blending it in with all the panels/skirts/bumpers.

Have a broom yellow punto aswel, agree with you all about when washing the car bugs are constantly landing on it! Pisses me off lol. Have noticed yellow can fade, but only when your picky. What will be the best solution to try, to get the yellow back to the original colour when it was painted back at the factory??

Other then that i love the colour!
