garrett is the standard turbo for a gt, so you have probably had a second hand one put in and by the sound of it, not a very good condition second hand one.
Hi!This is my first message as a newboy!I recently had a"Garrett"turbo fitted to my 1996 GT,and ever since it has burnt and or leaked oil,especially after standing a while.Has anybody got any suggestions at all?Thanks.Ben.

where is it leaking oil from?
did the old turbo break while on the car, maybe some residue left over in the exhaust from that?

Mk1 uno t uses an IHI RHB4, mk2 uno t uses a garrett T1/T2..........mk1 punto gt uses an IHI VL7, not a garrett!!!
early gt1's used garret some gt2's used both garret and ihi gt3's used ihi vl7's and also didn't the uno use a ihi vl5??????????
Either way, they have the same spec iirc.
oh yeah fiat just changed manufacturer halfway through production god knows why though
