I heard you can't do that this time for this new phone, you have to pay off rest of your contract first just update it with the new software

    No it is not.

Same rules apply as any contract where you need to buy out or wait for your upgrade.

If you mean features wise, yes the software you can get for free. The differences such as better camera and processor / ram you cannot benefit from however.

Yes, but its pointless really. My mate bought a contract out, think it was around 250 for 8 months.

LOL o2 are screwing people for the new phone.

I can upgrade my phone 3 months early (which is next month) so I'm going to ask about the 3GS, but I won't hold my breath. I'll either take the most expensive phone I can and sell it, or not upgrade and get money off my contract.

I have an iPhone free from work, so I'm not that bothered. I'm not going to get ripped off my o2 to get a new one.

    How though?

The iphone 3g was massively subsidised by o2, so after paying so much money for people why would they then let them upgrade 6/9/12 months early?

Same as every network has been doing for every phone since the dawn of time

The iphone we got now with the new software is good enough

It's not worth buying new one, plus in a couple months there drop the price like they did with the one we got now.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't have to buy out their contract to end early, but the price of the phone is ridiculous.

Of course you wont agree, you work for them.
