    Unhappy strut brace for mk2 1.2 8valve

    hi folks im thinking of putting strut brace on my punto mk2 1.2 8v elx 5 door and i dont want to pay silly money for it as im a family man and skint any ideas?

    they do the strut braces, not too bad price either.

    TBH they don't make that much of a difference.

    so do you think i should get one then as since i put new alloys on the car feels weird like the front end is loose is it because the tyres are wider than the standards? the wheel size is the same and they are the correct fit only difference is width.

    not sure - best bet is to check the tyre pressure and the tracking before spending money on something which will probably not fix the problem

    got myself a strutbrace off ebay and it wont fit mk2 its for a mk1 anybody want it im open to offers its made by omp

    They do fit but you have to relocate the brake res and drill some holes, there a right pain for not a lot of diffrence.

    looks that way, could i not just drill the holes in the brace not the car and what bolts are best 4 the job?

    Defeats the point of strengthening the body with the brace if you then drill holes IN the brace.
    On my mk1 75 I had a stainless steel plate knocked up at a local frabricators for the princely sum of a fiver...all neatly machined and holes drilled to my specification...this then let me lower the brake fluid reservoir by about 3 inches while still using the same mounting holes just drilled out to replace the studs with shorter bolts.

    i meant drill new holes in brace ends to match the holes in the strut mounts if u get my meaning not to mount the brake res
