btw, some prices:
normal paint job (outside): 650/700 gbp +/-
normal workshop labour costs: 7.5/8 gbp / hour
fully treat rust and paint: depends on the job, but something considered super expensive and complete would be something like 2000gbp/2500 full a full resto.
Yes but garage rates in the UK will be £30 per/hour minimum, more likely £40-50. The wage ratio from Portugal to the UK isn't 6:1 is it?
Aside to that, in the UK the roads are salted year in and year out to keep them usable when the temperature drops, this is by and large the reason cars in the UK rust and can become so badly rusted its uneconomical to repair them. MOT testing is quite stringent on safety points, it has to be a good repair to be deemed safe.
minimum wage in portugal: 390 gbp / month.
price of 1liter of gasoline: (as today) 1.20 gbp
"normal wage": 490 gbp /month - factory workers, forklift drivers, or "jobs for which you need no qualifications"

Gutted to hear this Beau, best advice I can give is to carry on as you are.... chin up, accepting that shit happens and not getting involved in a war. Bottom line here is we're not talking about six month old car sales, these Punto's are all pretty much 15-17+ years old.... probably older now than you were when you first got into the scene :)
And I'm not even gonna say lesson learnt, as apart from this, you've been shrewd over the years and always seem to have gotten a decent deal. I'm sure second hand car dealers get a lot worse on a day to day basis.
£490 gbp a month?? do you mean £490 gbp a week???
iv made over £1500 back so far, and still lots left, so not too bad after all :)
well done mate glad too hear it.

turbo £480
cat back £250
speed sensor £10
trim bits: £70
wheels: £60
air filter: £15
cam cover: £10
drive shafts: £50
boost pod: £30
intercooler: £150

and then you got these bits too:
