Thought i would try soaking some stuff in vinegar after someone had linked this little website on cruisenotts.com
Rust removal using vinegar
Big tub + lots of vinegar, dunno about 17p a bottle for malt, i couldnt find that at Tesco...

gave the block a quick gunk-ing and rinse then put it int he tub.

filled empty bottles with water to displace the vinegar abit and fill the tub more

Went to Tesco for some more vinegar and have left the block, two brake discs, the 1400 crank, big ends and a few other moving bits, also an aluminium engine mount i dont need to see how that fairs as it may erode the alu after a few days as now im back at work, so lift them out wednesday/thursday
