Unfortunately it was my only first hand experience of the same marque for a comparison.
A Citroen BX GT isn't a 'classic' but I saw one sell out the back of a barn for £2900 recently, you tell me he would have got that much for it fifteen years ago?! When was the last time you remember calling a Citroen BX a classic.
I can debate until my death bed but I am safe in the knowledge that a good GT will turn a profit (if purchased for a sensible price).
I guess I won't find out for real until I sell my car!
There will always be lucky opportunities to buy a great example for less than its perceived to be worth, but thats often down to the party selling the car not knowing or caring what its value could be.
Above all there is a vast amount of difference between GTs changing hands for a few thousand and those selling for £100. As with all cars GTs are somewhat buoyed by the enthusiasts because at the end of the day the book value is next to nothing. We're a strange bunch too here on PSC because a great deal of the owners know next to feck all about them, how to look after them, how to write out a sentence in English etc
Lol and there is always some idiot who'll pay £2900 for a BX GT and the like.
Am I an idiot than for paying £2900 on my yellow GT? As someone said on here .. there are always circumstances ..
I'd never pay that for a GT
;)
That's what we need here on PSC ... more and MORE Passion !
These's are Italian GTs after all .. that's what they are remembered for ..
A little bit yeah, it is over the odds although it is a nice example.
well i payed £1000 for it, no idea why it was so cheap! I travelled a good 200 miles for it, because i am such a passionate gt enthusiast haha.
the car has literally been serviced every two thousand miles, the mot's all together probably add up to around £300. this car really is amazing!
i think it could sell for £2000+
little things like the covers underneath the rear seats prove that its such a beaut
