Anyone know what the GT Mk1 gear ratios are?
Liam
Yeah, there **** :)
I have them.let me dig out my old brochures later this morning.....
I only need to know what 1st and 2nd are as I have straight cut close ratios for positions 3rd 4th and 5th.
Cheers
Liam
1st - 3.909:1 (same on all of the 1997 Mk1 puntos inc the 16v 1.2 but cant speak for the 1.6)
2nd - 2.238:1 (same as the TD60 and TD70)
Thanks for that. Was hoping 1st was 3.545:1
Cheers
Liam
3.5:1 is from a Fiat coupe 16vt gearbox
Any C510 type gearbox has interchangeable parts...
Punto turbo
1st 3.909:1
2nd 2.238:1
3rd 1.520:1
4th 1.156:1
5th 0.872:1
reverse 3,909:1
final drive 3.353:1
Uno turbo
1st 3,909:1
2nd 2,267:1
3rd 1,469:1
4th 1,043:1
5th 0,875:1
reverse 3,909:1
final drive 3,353:1
list of vehicles equipped with this gearbox can be found on the quaife website
http://quaife.co.uk/shop/search/results/QDH2K
QDH2K has been designed on the C510 gearbox so all these vehicles have it...
Common solutions over here is using the 4th from Uno turbo or 5th gear from a Tempra as it has longer ratio...or crown wheel from Bravo 20V..
Actually many years ago Novitec was selling a "longer 5th gear" for lots of money that was nothing more than a tempra 5th gear..
2nd/3rd from various Alfa/Fiat models depending the use etc..(search for Fiat fiorino 1.7TD gear ratios...they are the strongest of the family in order to support the diesel torque...many used 1st/2nd from this gearbox as it is ideal for drag use)
Straight cut gears?!
Mate, what you building?!
Had to reread my post..
Didn't say anything about straight cut gears,,,hehe
haha...now I got it...you talk about Slim's post...sorry..
Haha! Sorry, i forgot to use the quote button!
You still haven't showed us your build tho, Yelfig... come on now! ;)
Yelfig - Thanks for the reply. I'm already fairly up on the ratios/interchangeability of the various Fiat/Lancia C510 boxes and was planning on using Coupe 2.0 16v/Tipo 2.0 1st and 2nd. I had found conflicting information on the Punto GT box, some said it was 3.909:1 and some 3.535:1. Clarification is good tho so thanks.
Kas - I have a Mk1 Uno Turbo road going hill climb/sprint car that I have raced twice. Since my last hill climb (July) I have decided I need a close ratio gearbox. I bought a Punto GT box with 60,000 on as my base to start from. As I mentioned, first and second will come from a Coupe/Tipo. I have also recently bought straight cut 3rd-1.620:1 4th-1.240:1 and 5th-1:1 from an Alfa 156 BTCC of the mid/late 90's. I may also use the Alfa 147 final drive 4.06:1 but I'm not sure about this yet. I'm also fitting my Quaife ATB diff for good measure. :)
Cheers

Sounds awesome dude! And the close ratios sound like they'll be put to good use - interesting stuff!
Have you got any vids of the hill climb? Quite a lot of Uno fans on here so lets see some pics too! :)
Hey Kas
Sorry no vids yet, I will be recording it next season. I have photos but am unsure as to where I should post them, what part of the forum would be best?
