If you cut the bolt head off then how did you remove the remained of the bolt from the crank?
Looks like he did what I had to do once. Cut a 1/4 of the bolt head off so you have a flat section to chisel the stud round and loosen?
Surly cutting the head off would release all the pressure, causing the remains to be loose.
Well the issue would be it being seized in the thread within the end of the crank, not the clamping forces.
Cutting it off to chisel sounds abit drastic and risky, i'd like to know how the remnants of the stud have come out of the crank, whether there is any interesting method involved?
Last thing you need is your crank being fooked for the sake of a clutch, I did mine at a mates garage with lifts and stands, the lot, was still a fooker and took a full day.
Yeah as Todd said made a cross in the bastard then tapped it round so it naturally undid fine then.
No damage was done engine side thankfully, yeah a lift and a roof would really help alot tbh as doing it on your back is sh1t and demoralising haha
Got my new flywheel bolts today so shall be cracking on.
So gear and transfer box back on ect what a pig, done the gear box and transfer box fluids today plus lots of other fiddly jobs.
2 x new track rod arms aswell have gone on along with the 3" down pipe.

Need to sort an MOT and tax in the week plus get my new rims on the car which requires the tryes swopping over, shall be on the move soon enough though which is such a relief after the grief its caused me!
