think I'm warming to the EP3. Vtec sounds awesome thru an aftermarket filter. But I do like Clio 172's tho, and they can be got for £4k. Type r I'm looking at £4500, £5000 minimum, and that's with 70k miles ish. But ive been told that's ok asking as FSH, and its Honda so shud be ok???

I personally think you'll struggle to get an EP3 (or any Type-R) that is in good condition for that money. I've had a look on the trader, and you're looking at a minimum of £5.5k for one in fair condition with high miles. It's upwards of 6k for a fairly decent one, and minters are still 7k+ Mileage isn't really a problem on them, seats start to wear like in any car, but the engines will run forever as long as they are serviced regularly, and oil topped up (VTEC does like a drink!)

They are worth the extra coin over a Renault though. I'd definately recommend one.

well if you got history of working with the k series vvc and throttle bodies, instead of going for a metro why not a ZR bit more modern?? and is easily in your price range??

if you get a 172, you will only wish you got a 182.
save a bit more and get a JCW cooper-S.
