**** Paul thats bad! Any idea what caused the aux belt to snap? Too tight maybe?
The auxiliary belt on my 20vt snapped last night, to say i'm a bit pissed off is an under statement. I changed the cam belt, ALL tensions, water pump and all auxiliary belts just 5000 miles ago!
All i can see now as its dark is that the Auxiliary belt has snapped and after prizing the top of the cam belt cover open is that the teeth on the belt have sheered but it has not snapped.
i would differently say its slipped though due to the auxiliary belt locking the crank.
Bastard car! I'll be removing the belts and covers to probably find the engine is no longer timed. We shall see!
Well this afternoon i've managed to free the engine up, i've removed the aux belt which was well and truly wrapped around the behind the crank pulley, the timing belt was in hell of a mess but still in one piece. Here's what i've found!Originally Posted by Paul_75SX

20 bent valves, lovely!
Unkentucky pablo.
You cant take belts back to the shop etc, as paul did the work himself.
How much are new valves?>
Yes i can, i've done an invoice for the repairs and work has been written, spoken to the factors i had the belt from and they said its worth a tryOriginally Posted by Superman
20 new valves are £940 from fiat, LOL. You know me, i've found a bargain which enables me to keep the spare coop in tact for breaking in the new year
