Great design by the french there!
R5s are very tuneable! Prone to overheating tho...

most cars come with a plastic airbox as standard so the postitioning of the turbo etc doesnt matter
the last thing a designer will think is "oh yeh, how much cold air is guna get to an open filter when some1 starts modding it"
Ones upside down?

The bottom end is as hard as nails i've heard they will take 250 + bhp without a problem! The heads will crack i, and the head gaskets will blow if they get too hot, like any car obviously but these more so. The fan temp sensor should be changed for (i think) an 87 degree item and there are copper core rads availible that apparently make a very big difference.
I like the look of them but i have always seen them as the 'enemy', sad as it may sound for that reason i'll never own one.

Mate, just to tell you, I'm a R5 lunatic.
I owned 3 GT TURBO's and they are really crap. Unreliable cars, if your interested, I can wrote you problems, they have loads.
I can even put you pics of mine.
Punto GT is bullet proof compared to R5. They are worst little turbocharged cars ever.
But I still love them.
R5's are fine aslong as you mod them properly. i.e not crank the boost
Cooling and fueling first. Then go for power mods.
