    Smile Tax

Sorry people for the strange subject but does anyone know if it's ok-ish to drive a car home after buying it with no tax...?
What would happen if i got pulled, 7 day wonder?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

i bought my car last year without no tax, the dealer said it would be fine to drive aslong as your on your way to get it, jus make sure you got your insurance on you and proof that you bought the car, i didn't get stopped, unlikely they'd do anything if you got the paperwork on you

Checked my books for you, its an offence:

Section 29 Vehicle and Excise Registration Act 1994
Its an offence for any person to keep or use a mechanically propelled vehicle on a public road without a valid vehicle licence.

    And

Section 33 Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994
Its an offence for any person to use or keep such a vehicle on a public road whilst failing to display a valid tax disc.

You dont have a defence by stating that your on your way to get it even with all your paperwork (scumbag could use that excuse everyday!)

    £60 fine I think.
