This is my Uno Turbo, some of you might remember my old black mk1 from a few years ago at one of the psc rolling road days,
unfortunately the rot had set in so I decided to scrap the old shell and reshelled it into a utterly mint 10k miles 45-s
to start with
after many hours days weeks months
with punto gt1 ecu and mapped by leighton Fcp the engine produced 233bhp
drove it to the nurburgring and did 8 laps round,
at santa pod rwyb day I managed a best time of 13.5@105mph
wasn't happy with the power delivery and all the power being north of 5krpm so set about on a 1.9
spec of the 1.9 is
piper 270 fast road cam
piper vernier pulley
1.6 cylinder head non egr with 39.5 standard inlet valves and 33mm exhaust valves
ported and gas flowed race spec valves and seats
race spec valve springs
wossner pistons
arrow precision con rods
stilo 78.4mm crank
1600 sporting block
crank with modified oilways
fully balanced
gt flywheel and helix clutch
Looking good. What power output are you hoping for?

Excellent work! Power delivery is very important and often overlooked!
This is going to be an awesome project
I've heard a fair few are Going for a 1.9 rather than the 16vt.
i was disappointed with the gt25r I found it really laggy it didn't hit 22 psi til around 5k the engine was 1301cc cr 7.7/1
With the 1900 it was going to be 7.5/1 cr but it's not possible to have it that low I am using Athena mls gasket the thicker one 1.7mm its going the 8.3/1 cr
The rods didn't catch in my block at all I my block but the clearance was only 20 thou so it has been relieved in 6 places to 30 thou
The standard rods don't fit the wossner pistons the top above the small end is too thick you would have to grind too much off to get the pin in
I used the the coolant drain plug on the front of the crankcase for the turbo coolant feed,
I have considered using a gt2560r turbo which I think would still make 280bhp and would be very fast spooling making the car very good to drive on the road,
Looking forward to the end results! Seems an age ago I had all the bits together for a 1.9, I can't even remember what actually happened to it
Do you have some mounts made up to mount the front-mounting blocks in to your Uno?
