Yes. When I dropped a GT3 engine in my last GT the original wiring loom put the connector over the cam box. I moved the connector to the top of the inlet manifold and it worked fine. At the end of the day it's just wiring. So if you use a GT3 engine use a GT3 ECU and you'll be fine.

Ok so I can put a gt1 engine in mine fit a gt3 inlet manifold and use my gt3 engine loom on it all in conclusion?

But will need a gt1/2 ecu?

Don't see why not. You could just fit a GT1 engine and ECU and use the GT3 loom. You'd just need to move the ICV connector.

But I would still recommend getting a GT3 engine.

If you're going to use a GT1 engine you really need to get the GT2 ecu for correct fueling/ignition timing unless you're going to have it remapped properly

I'm running a gt3 loom and gt3 manifold mounted style icv to run a gt1 lower compression style engine in my gt3.
Hans burnt be an EPROM to suit this setup and it works fine.
I done this because the higher compression engines kept breaking on me due to poor fuel quality here in Ireland.
