mine passed its mot 3 weeks ago with airbag light on! well actually failed on its windscreen being cracked but no mention of airbag light
tester tells me it has been a fail since March. Note says: "(light on) drivers airbag obviously defective (5.4.1)"
I have taken out the 'coil spring' and cleaned the contacts, which were very slightly corroded. Now have continuity OK.
I know there is a procedure to reset the light. is it just earth the blue wire or is there more to it than that? best regards, Geoff

I was going to say take the bulb out lol..
Technically though they should observe the light for the correct test sequence but many wouldnt
the manual says to check the light comes and goes out, most will check now, its new and there was a special notice with it starting on 20th march
if its on it stays on its a fail, if it doesnt come on at all, its an advisory
But what if it's been removed, and an aftermarket wheel's been fitted?
thats fine, as long as the bulb/any airbag signs are gone
Now that he's seen it the bulb out fix is probably too late. I have given it back to him to do some welding, and he has the kit to check the faults etc.
I went to reset the light but found only two wires in the connector from the control box, a black/purple and a green. Does anyone know what to do with them??
thanks for your help. rgds
