Cheers Mawb, didn't know that!
At least my speed is consistant as a conselation prize.
I must have missed the speed dan said he had
Yes Mawbs right, thats about the speed it will download at for 2.2Mb
Its about 1Mbit to 125Kbytes ish
Cheers Mawb, didn't know that!

No problem dan.
In most instances I hear about sky there service is one of the best.
I pay a lot of money to bt for my service being about £22 a month if i recall.
But i am happy with it.
If i wanted a cheaper version sky would be the next one i would go to.
Bugger me you're complaining about that speed Dan?
Christ try living in the sticks with me and my 0.34kbps download speed on my 512kbps line.
I have here this type
But the real download speed always depends on from where you downloading exactly, this is the speed of the connection only to the server... nothing else
If the server is too far and/or on badly routes the download could be even just 1-2kilobytes per second with this connection too
Some weeks ago my mate told me, his download was extrem fast for a 5-6 hour period, IMHO our ISP made some tests or developments, and speed was not limited until this times, but he has GigabitLAN port is his notebook :P

hi guys
our Digi ISP has a new package from july 15 (optical network)
1000/100Mbps internet access (with unlimited traffic), for ~13GBP per month , with 95 TV channels and VOIP phone for ~20GBP per month (+traffic for outgoing calls, but in Digi's own network is fully free, even for an aboard call, example a call to Romania from Hungary if both number is in Digi's network costs zero)
my current 80/25Mbps access is uprated to 200/50 for free... so sadly i need to upgrade my TPlink741 router for a better one, it has "only" 100Mbps ports LOL
the slowest access is now 50/25Mbps (unlimited) for only ~8GBP per month
this 1000Megabits (1Gigabits) per second means an Xvid/Divx avi file can be downloaded in 6(six!!) seconds, or a 4.7Gb DVD in only 37seconds... OK it depending too from where comes the file, its ideal for a hardcore torrent user
this speed means 120-125Megabytes per second, this is around the HDDs write speed limit on SATA3... or you need to have an SSD

Show off!!
really dont know, why is by you guys this type of internet access not available even nowdays...
OK, this 1Gbps is really hardcore overkill for internet surfing, but it is very cheap even here too
my further 512kbps ADSL access 7-8 years ago was 3x more expensive as this whit the cableTV and VOIP phone now (and calculate the yearly inflation too), later this ADSL was upgraded for to 1536 and 3072kbps for free, but was expensive, and frequently lost the connection, needed to change the ADSL modem 2 times but even was not stable
then it was 45GBP for the ADSL only and 8GBP for the phone line (required for ADSL, +calls traffic) , and 16GBP for the 49 channel cableTV... sum 79GBP per month (+phone calls traffic costs)
this now costs the 1/4 only, 60x faster, and stable(!)...
ping to the BIX is just 2ms :P
