you only need to VIC check a cat C
Mine was CAT'd last March and I haven't had mine VIC checked, yet I've had it MOT'd, reinsured and retaxed since. Flux told me it just needed to be re-MOT'd and the DVLA told me that the VIC check is for when I want/need a new logbook. However, I wouldn't get a tax reminder. No biggie to me, I just make sure I remember all by myself!
you only need to VIC check a cat C
Mine is declared as a "C"
you dont need a vic,
if you buy a car back off after its been written off you need to get a new mot as the old one is voild, you can insure it before the mot but it will only be third party, like any car without a mot, once its mot you will be back to fully comp you can drive round in it for 20 years without gettin a vic
a vic is just to say that the car has been check to make sure same shell and engine and so on, you can do it before or after a mot
you cant sell a car without it being vic as the car is not register to you so you are not allowed to sell it,
its a strange system just like the rest of to dvla
This is what happened. Someone stole his car.. Tried running him over. Hit a brick wall..
He rang the police and the police told him to call his Insurance. He told the insurance what happened they said ok, well for us to pay you out, you must write a statement to the police. He said No i'm not writing a statement. I'm not a grass, dw about it.
Month down the line i did a Vic check. Told him cat c, he rung the insurance and they said where he informed the insurance they had someone come out and look at it. Where they have stated its a CAT C there is nothing else to be done apart from writing a statement then we will pay you out.
So he went out and brought a Focus and said i can have it for £250. So from him not really getting a payout i thought it shouldnt be a cat c. But where he has informed them it has been recorded.
