ide h/d as a back up on a laptop ?

hi,im getting a new laptop soon and was wondering is it possible to use my old ide h/d as a back up drive for my music etc ? is there a cable i can buy to plug into usb port for example ? thanks stu...

A caddy would be the easiest thing to use, you can get them really cheap as its ide:

thanks for quick reply would this work if the ide i was using came from a desktop tower pc ?

This caddy is only designed for 2.5" laptop hard drives,
but you can get the caddys for larger hdd's, standard desktop hdd's.
I dare say there are probly caddys that have convertors so fit both sizes (for Laptops and desktops)
