I received a letter the other day refusing to offer me a renewal quote because my car is modified... Isn't that pretty much the whole point of your scheme? To insure modified / specialist / club owned vehicles?

if so they changed their requirements and quote for anything more than about 20bhp over standard, which rules out pretty much all chipped and remapped cars

Beat me to it!, +20 bhp tolerance, pretty much eliminates 60% of cars on this forum. Seems every time I can make the requirements for a quote they change the requirements..

Nope, Only ever really used my SEB for the RR, no use for it atm either as i'm at uni so car's used incredibly rarely.

It was due to a combination of your age and the amount/type of mods on your car.

I must say that only 1 other person has been sent a similar letter but the insurers have insisted upon this. Sorry.

maybe you should find some other insurers? iv never heard of say adrian flux not being able to even supply a quote. flux always seems to be the most helpful out of all of the brokers for me, mind you, i have paid them over £3000 this year alone

Again we see the media talking about the premium increases which seem to be affecting nearly everyone.

For years, our scheme insurers tended to avoid these increases when all around we were hearing of price jumps.

However, fortunately, we are still writing plenty of business even though these increases have been imposed nationally. I still see on forums that our insurance scheme is making savings for forum users (and some large – a £200 saving was quoted on one forum this week!

The new criteria of not accepting any bhp increase mods by more than 20bhp does affect some on the forum but we are still busy though we’re sorry that this precludes some from getting a quote from us.
