    Impreza WRX Wagon IMPORT.

I have been offered an Impreza WRX wagon for £350, Some SH 12 months MOT 87k. Only thing is its an import. I no quite little about the impreza's, does anyone no what to look for on these ie common probs and faults?? Also i am aware on alot of imports parts can always be difficult to get and expensive will this be the case with a scoob??

I would appreciate any help guys....

I tell you what will be expensive; insurance. Have you tried getting a quote yet? Import Scoobs have silly insurance because they are performance cars, highly desirable to chav thieves and imports.

I have a mate with a WRX wagon import and his brother bought a Type RA a couple of months ago (it's bloody fast I tell thee). Parts are not a problem to get hold of whatsoever.

Sounds like a bargain price, but don't be fooled usually even if it comes with MOT you'll still find problems. Though my partner has always bought cars cheap and not always been a bad buy, sometimes you'll buy a cheap one and it needs alot of work doing to it. Why is the reason for the sale to be so cheap with 12 months MOT? The 87k mileage sounds alright, what year is the car? I'd also have to agree with Kyle that the insurance will be expensive being an import but perhaps you can use someone like Adrian Flux or specialist insurance companies.

Unlike what Kyle said, usually people come into my work with imported cars, even if not performance ones and find it hard to find the correct parts. Usually not that much of an issue, as not that much varies.

an absolute steal at this, the impreza engine is strong and reliable, as long as its been run on shell helix, and good quality fuel,

to get the imports through an mot, you need a mapped ecu that has been mapped so lean that its ready to pop just for mots, as my mate had that prob with them,

check that the belts been changed, as it took me a while to do as theres nothing to lock the pullys with and they spin on you lol

tbh, its worth your while buying and breaking it, cause you will get 500 for the engine
250 for the gearbox and 100 for the diff#

if modd exhaust then add 150

    etc etc

    buy and break
