    4-2-1 manifold for 1.2 8v

I went to my local exhaust place today (who i kno quite well, as they used to work opposite me) for a qoute on a 4-2-1 manifold and decat for a 60s..

they told me that there would be no point in it as i would probably lose power as it would be too free flowing and not enough back pressure.

just wondering how true this is? i fully trust them as i cant imagine them turning work away!

Also was qouted £60 to supply and fit a decat for my car, is this a good price?

took me a bit more than 20 mins, the bolts were rusted pretty bad and had to be angle grinded off!!! but still better than 60 quid, get it off ebay and do it yourself.

Yeah but id rather not worry about rounded nuts taking years to get off as its so rusty etc

plus get a lifetime gaurantee should anything go wrong..

If you take it to your exhaust place, theyl grind the bolts off for you (if they are buggered, depending on the state of yours) and fit new ones for a tenner, then its a piece of piss. aslong as u have axel stands... but obv if your worried about buggering it up and dont mind forking out the extra 30 quid then take it to your local place.

well tbh id happily do it..its just the fact that if for some reason it does go wrong (like the weld breaking or something) i can take it back and get it sorted.

plus my car is lowered so it would be abit harder to get underneath the car and smash the fook out of it till it comes off :\

true. you dont need to weld anything though, the gasket bolts on to the downpipe and the other end just sleeves into the exhaust, mine was blowing a bit so just put a bit of exhaust repair putty round the join and sounded ace. was even spitting a bit on falling revs . and there is definetely a difference, feels quicker and smoother delivery of power. dont know about manifold though...
