Mine did this aswell ! Just so you know that its not anyone playing stupid games with your head
Every so often my car will unlock its self (both doors at the same time), (its central locking),
All i normally do is, lock the car via my remote central locking on my alarm (clifford), normally it will stay locked. But recently i have been going to my car a couple hours later and it will be unlocked, But the alarm is still armed.
So i originally thought that my alarm was unlocking the car, but last night i tried locking the car via the key and disarming the alarm. That was at 10pm, went to work this morning at 530am and it was still locked.
Just got back home and it was unlocked.
Its like someone is going up to the car and unlocking it with a key then leaving it. The alarm will sound if the door is opened.
Now obviously there is an electrical fault somewhere, obviously i haven’t a clue were.
Has anyone else with central locking on there Punto Mk1 had any similar problems and was the fault found?
I don’t feel like using the car and leaving it if its going to decide it doesn’t want to stay locked one day and a thief see's the opportunity to rival through my stuff..
Although recently I haven’t left anything in there, they still may find something..

Did you fix the problem? If so what was at fault.
mine did this a bit a while ago, i found it to be the metal rod between the lock and the inside door release handle was stiff, probably due to it being delocked at some point and bent slightly. take off the door card and spray some wd40 on it all and see if that helps.
Did both doors unlock or just the one? Both mine are unlocking.
Its because it was de-locked never really looked into it but my mate that did it said there can be issues
i personaly kicked the crap out the car and sold the parts
**** both
lol... Not really gonna sort my problem as i dont wana break it to sell on.
Mine isnt delocked, tho my old one was and i never had any problems with that.
Mine did this, as soon as you locked it it would unlock itself. I cured it by disconnecting and reconnecting one of the alarm modules located in front of the rear O/S speaker next to the parcel shelf.Originally Posted by y2dom

dont know if its the same case with the mk1 but ...
on my mk2 the electrics are joined by the pins and the clip was lose so they kept slipping out. car wouldnt lock and was unlocking.
Im on about the black casing thats by the hinge of the door.
hope it may be a help.
