    Cutting Out (GT3)

    Hi There,

Just spent a fortune replacing loads of things (turbo, manifold, clutch, suspension, brakes etc) and the car was runnin sweet. Took it out to Wales for a nice smooth drive the other day and now it won't idle properly, even worse, when the fan cuts in the engine stalls. Its drivin me nuts! checked piping, sensors, DV but don't really know what i'm lookin for. Any advice on the matter would make my day.

    Cheers Ant.

Did you change the proverbial Air flow meter? That cutting out in conjunction with the fan coming on sounds notoriously like the AFM.

Yeah I fitted it on the day, replacing the superchip I had for 5 yrs, made a big difference, engine felt tighter, more refined, with more power / less boost, well chuffed with it, the engine still runs fine. Summat seemed to go the other day tho, its as if you need to rev the balls off it to set off. Will check that sensor cheers, can I clean it or will it need replacin?

It sounds like a split or lose pipe to me from what you describe. I know its annoying but take all the pipes of inc the small turbo one and check them all.

Bad earth? As the fan cuts in it draws more current and if something isn't earthed properly it could draw too much from the engine.
