Need help with engine bay

Hey all,

Just a quick question really......how structuly important is the battery tray mount. The thing that sticks out on the inside passenger arch?
I am fitting a new induction kit and this is in the way.......can i cut??

aslong as you leave enough metal around the battery and the mounting points i wud say it would be ok.

i was thinking about doing this, cant see it really being a problem, it only supports the batt tray. lop it off and let me know!!!
