    Wales Rally GB

    Anyone going?

    I assume Tony is?

I think I am going to do it this year. Always wanted to so it's about time I did.

A 4 day pass is £90, which allows access to all the stages.

    Anyone else up for it?

    nope its becoming a joke

they've lowered the price to £90.00 BUT you can only do 1 stage per day, ok the cars run twice, but because of traffic systems and diversions you simply cant get to other stages in time, even with my blagging skills and shortcuts - and yes the sprinter does very well 'offroad' and is regulally airbourne

once you get into the stages, the 'veiwing areas' are useless and you cant get to the good places without trecking

im doing rally germany - £40

    and possibly rally ireland £FREE

Like I say I've never been before, ideally I'd like to go with someone who knows what they are doing.

I think I still will go.

£90 is alot for not alot of action, its seriously un cool how we get ripped off for motorsport in the UK, no wonder hardly anyone gives a monkeys.

5years ago British GP was 35quid, im sure its neaer 50 now, just for race day.

    STAGE DESCRIPTIONS

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    START / FINISH
In 2007, the official start and finish ceremonies will take place outside the front of law courts in King Edward VIII Avenue, adjacent to Cardiff City Hall.

    SERVICE PARK, SA1 SWANSEA WATERFRONT
New for 2007, the Service Park will be located at the SA1 Waterfront in Swansea. The focal point for teams’ activity on event, it is also the location of Parc Ferme for the duration of the Rally. The cars return to the Service Park seven times over the event which will give spectators the opportunity to see how teams change gearboxes, wheels and tyres in a frenzy of activity.

    PORT TALBOT
The stage runs through Margam Forest on a completely revised route from previous years. The route is a mixture of fast wide roads and narrow tracks winding up and down the valleys. The section through Margam Park is NOT being used this year.

    RESOLFEN
Using wide forest roads high up on the Rhigos Mountain this stage includes long fast stretches broken up by tight junctions. Run in the reverse direction to 2005 there are excellent views of the cars over long stretches of the stage in areas of the forest where all the trees have been felled.

    RHEOLA
This stage requires lots of concentration from the drivers as they climb high above the Neath Valley with precipitous drops. At the northern end of the stage is Walters Arena (Car Park E) where a huge spectator viewing area allows views of the cars for over a minute as they tackle jumps and a variety of difficult corners – safe and spectacular viewing.

    CRYCHAN
The dense network of roads in this forest means the stage is very twisty in places, passing through a large numbers of junctions. There a lot of different viewing areas located in easy reach of the car parks which are located on the north side of the forest. This stage is always popular with rally fans travelling from the Midlands or the North.

    EPYNT
Considerable tree felling has taken place in this forest; this means that there is very little to obstruct the views on this stage located on the north side of the Epynt Military Range. A series of fast sections are punctuated by hairpin bends and at the mid point, close to the spectator car park, there is a fast section of asphalt road linking the gravel roads that form the majority of the route.

    HALFWAY
Located further south on the Epynt Military Ranges this stage has two distinct sections. The first part is through classic forest roads with long corners and then the stage route joins the Army gravel roads with jumps and corners on crests to catch the unwary. The final section of the stage is very wide and fast over open moorland.

THE CARDIFF STAGE AT THE MILLENNIUM STADIUM
Once again, the city of Cardiff will host a Saturday evening Stage comprising action packed fun for all the family featuring stunts and entertainment before the Rally competitiors come speeding into the stadium to complete the Cardiff stage.

A world class venue a great night out for the whole family!

    BRECHFA
The 2005 route is reversed to produce a stage with a mixture of fast straights and long cambered corners. The surface is hard packed stone – a classic Welsh rally stage. Near the Car Park B there is a junction where the cars can be seen twice.

    TRAWSCOED
Straight after Brechfa, Trawscoed offers more of the same type of roads but with less fast straights, and some narrow sections. With climbs, descents and vicious hairpins, it makes great viewing. As with Brechfa the route has been reversed from last year.
