    1997 GT for £1300!!!

Was offered one for £1300 tho its not running 100% lol compression test was run and its down in 1 cylinder so i have been told going to get the results of the test asap

this is the stuff he has got so far

    Brand new turbo
head rebiult inc.new valves skimmed and pressure tested.
    New petrol tank
    plugs+leads
    new injector
    head set
    timing belt
    air flow metre!

Anyways you think i would get away with puttng one piston in??

I think the timing belt broke in the car... never been running from that day..

Your view.. should i just leave it or not?

    Maybe for a lower price

All depend on how much time you have to finish off the job but £1300 is not dirt cheap for a GT on a 97 plate as I got my car for £1500 delivered from exeter to Lancaster.

Only problem was failed MOT on rear arms

I personally don't think its that cheap if it needs that sort of work, TBH.

has no mot or tax as well..

Might be cheaper its been forsale awhile now.. price was £1800 to start.

i have 3 pistons laying here too

@greg still waiting on the results from the test.. Would i be right in saying if over 160 its ok?? I know it should be what 180?

@hf aye head was taken off and was took to a top firm in N.I.. was tested and all new bits fitted.. also skimmed i think..

dont think its advisable to replace one piston and it will probubly be the rings, they are not dear anyway for slightly oversized with rings.
£280 from fiat iirc then a rebore, plus taking it appart.and if it was being taken appart it would be worth or an idea to fully rebuild the bottom end.

sounds good but it oculd potentially cost alot more on top of that, essentially drinking your profits...definitly consider it and post the results of the test up so we can offer some help...i would be looking at payin 'a bag o sand' tops
