Dan mine has only just ticked over 60k ... alot of mk2 have more than that
Basically the 1.2 engine needs alot more revs to get any pull but has a more pronounced power band due to engine characteristics(i.e you can really feel the power kick in at 4k or so).
The 1.6 has more torque to it and has a lower down power band. Basically this means that it is probably nicer to drive as it has power without revving it. It will also pull alot better in gear than the sporting!
I prefered the 1.2 Sporting when I drove both, thats why I bought one.
Also, the 1.2 Sportings are newer and have better interiors.
Look in the 16v section, theres all of the info you need on where the power bands are. Once the 1.2 is warmed up it makes a significant difference.
Punto Gt no more!
How long did you drive the 1.6 for?
Same amount of time I drove the 1.2 for.
The 1.2 was more exciting and newer.

Wow, you have a 12 year old car, cool! I had 2 GT's when they were unknown and only a few years old. Give it a rest mate. Nobody cares.Originally Posted by Daniel

Yea thats what I was trying to say...with the 16v its revier and the powerband is more pronounced so the 16v will seem alot faster and funner to drive
