I don't feel sorry for the guy, but so many manufacturers do this, it does take the piss a bit.
I thought we'd got past this after Jaguar did it with the E-Type years ago.
If I'd paid £111,000 for a car that said top speed of 186, I'd expect it to do that - and quite rightly so I'd have said.
If you bought your Skyline to go fast Mook, and it was over 10 mph slower flat out you'd be pretty peeved I think (probably not because you don't go flat out) but with these more expensive cars, this is one of the priorities of what you pay for.
More fool him anyway, for that price he could've bought a Porsche GT2.
is this measured on the speedo or on gps?
But then again for that sort of money I would expect the speedo to be spot on and the spec sheet to be acurate.
E-type jag? were you watching top gear the other night then? lol
No, I recall chatting to the ex Aston Martin owner about spurious claims to power and speed in the 50's and 60's and his mentioning the E-Type as one of the worst ones - to the point the testers drove it flat out, with 50+ psi in the tyres for a long distance to get their claimed 150 mph on a car they tinkered with the engine.Originally Posted by Lowtechguy
