you appreciate a car alot more if you build it yourself, you also get alot of respect from other people for doing so

myself, im not a believer of going to a tuning company, getting the cheque book out and saying "how much" then paying out **** loads on labour charges. i think if you have a mechanical knowledge then you should do it yourself

if i see a car/engine which has been built by a company, i think ahh there we are, another chequebook car, i dont appreciate it atall!

Not everyone has the time or knowledge to do it.

If you paid and architect to design your house, then I would say, that's ****, another cheque book house, I don't appreciate it at all!

you never get enough though when you go out - if yo make it yourself you get a big helping

I agree.

But we all have to start somewhere.

I cant get the 1600 out of my head whereas the 2.0 litre I hardly think about.

No doubt becasuse Im taking a more active part in the 1600 build.

Im getting more fun from designing the build than I will probably get from driving it.

If it works I will be so proud of it.
