sometimes i just hate my car

my new disc and pads arrived today from black diamond

i was quite excited when i got in, been looking forward to getting them and seeing how good they are

everything was going so well. the old pads came off easily, caliper came off alright, had a bit of trouble with the disc being stuck to the hub, but nothing a swift blow with a hammer wouldnt cure.

then it came to putting it all back together.

new grooved disc went of perfectly, bolted the caliper back on, then tried to push the cylinder back in.... would it move? would it bollocks!!!
tried for hours in the pissing rain to get it back in and it gets close to fitting back on, but wont!!

has really ****ed me off!! gonna have to go a buy a new caliper 2mora, after i check the condition of the other one

another big expense i didnt need!! god damn punto

You did undo the brake fluid reservoir cap yea? As that can make a difference (wrap an old rag around the base of the cylinder as when you push the piston back in, the fluid will rise up and some might leak out.

Try soaking it in WD40, leave it for half an hour, then use a PROPER industrial stylee g-clamp.

Should push back in fine like that, they can get seized but you shouldnt really need to get another mate.
