    Header tank

My rad is off so might as well try and clean the tank as it's currently orange. Best way to clean the inside?

Thanks lads, can the tank be separated into 2 halfs? Is it just a case of prising it apart?

Aye its gotta hold pressure eh.

Them magic balls sound interesting tho, they somehow clean whilst been swilled around with some soapy water? Worth a shot!

the insides are a bit convoluted so you cant do a mint cleaning job but you can bring it back from being brown or orange.

the last one i cleaned i used cat litter and washing powder to sort of scour the insides. boiling water helps-stick the cap on and block the return hole. shake vigorously. obviously throughly flush out. sticking a jet wash inside might jet out some crap.

i wonder how well those mini valeting steamers would clean one up?

failing that new ones from Fiat are about £30 and finish off a clean engine bay nicely.

thinking about it cat litters a terrible idea. risk one bit getting into the engine galleries, turbo or water pump or thermostat.....forget i even said that....... washing powder though or salt should be ok as it dissolves....
