Standard internals

Hi can any one on here tell me how much power, boost etc the standard internals can handle on the gt. I know every engine is different but a rough idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My mate had 240hp on standard internals !
All depends on your mapping

It's all relative. Standard internals will take 600hp... for about a mile. 250hp will work, but the life of the block before it breaks will be dramatically shortened. 200hp is about the limit for daily use, 250hp yes but after a few thousand it'll break.

I dont agree with that.. With a good map and a well looked after engine I really don't think it will break.. Anywhere between 250-280hp will be fine.

Dr Evil whatever your name is do you drive to work daily? Do you do at least 12000 per year in it do you drive hard? If no then it's not really normal use. Lot people who generally answer regularly have faults and only drive for fun in their cars.

Mines a daily driver, last year I melted three forged pistons and built three forged engines, the year before I blew five headgaskets and smashed the ring lands off two pistons, year before I destroyed a forged build with det. Is that hard enough driving? Pretty sure i've got the fastest 8v punto in the uk drag time wise as well
