i was to u had to my puntos a 5 door 1.2
I assume that says "you were told you had to as your car is a 5 door 1.2"? If so, not that I'm aware of, all Punto's I have seen have the same front subframe. The rear car also be used with a 1.4 turbo conversion if you upgrade the brakes.

The only real difference that i know of is the extra braketry for the weight on the gt.
Can't say I've ever seen any extra brackets.

i think the main reason people change them is for the fact that they can take the one from their donor car and refurbish. paint it up off the car while the car still has the other.
at the end of the day its your own choice. you can change it if you like or not. the suspension framework is exactly the same weather it be for a 3 or a 5 door car varient. even the cabriolets have the same structure.
thanks mawbster punto boy can u explain how the rear axle can be kept as mine is on drums do i have to run new rear brake lines
