vag 20v are good for 300bhp on standard internals, then the rods need changing. Large port heads agu etc will make 300bhp with s3/tt ko4 turbo on standard internals

the vf35 turbo is a max turbo of 332bhp (10bhp either way) it only flows 35lb of air per minute so in the ideally world of
low IATs
free flowing exhaust no restrictions
correct cam choice
no core shift in the head
everything 100% ideal and effcient it will only ever make 332bhp (10 bhp either way) my saying like a cash machine if its only got £100 in it theres no possible way of getting any more out of it you can kick and scream and shake it you will only ever get £100


its all simple really like for example the k04 turbo is a 31lb a min turbo
1lb of boost = 9.5 hp (s**t bust is maths)

31lb x =294.5 crank horse power (10bhp either way)

for example the evo 9 80 series turbo is 44lb/min
so 44 x 9.5 = 414bhp crank power max it so simple but tuners have you believe it by bumping up the dyno
don forget dynos can be upto 10bhp out either way you get the picture

it could make 340bhp if it didnt have a miss fire and it was on the small port head and the fact it died on the way home shows it had a fault
was the engine running ideal ?

I didn't see it run but generally a 1.8 20v turbo with a bit of work should easily do 340hp or even 440hp, sounds like it had a rough day though.

with the particular turbo 350bhp max its a an equation that cant be changed, my evo will make 1000bhp if i fit the correct turbo and support mods.
if that turbo Andy had on is only a 35lb min turbo thats all in can blow you can fit injectors cams exhauts coolers etc etc but on pump fuel 350bhp max
