    Track rod end?

Went to replace my NSF track rod end today on the gt and the bloody nut has been rounded off on the rack end. Had a look on eBay and was surprised to see they actually sell the end/rod separately. Anyone ever changed one before? I haven't taken off the gaitor yet as I didn't have time but hoping its a fairly simple job.

    Thanks

just weld another nut onto the one that has rouned off mate. or if you have loads of tine on your hands file down two sides.

I've done one on a fiesta before.

It was a very tight squeeze with the subframe.
I think I had to use a plumbers wrench?

your talking about the inner track rod - not sure how easy access is to allow you to pull back the gaiter and unlock the rod.
a special pin secures it to the main rack sort of on a CV like joint. to get the special tool in to release the pin might be tricky but it would be painful if the rack had to come out just to renew that. speak a Fiat specialist.

Cheers for the input! I think I'm just going to get a new rod, they're only £15 on eBay...
