Your talking nonsense. Of course a crack will have an effect on boost, it will be constantly bleeding off pressure when the wastegate door is closed, plus once hot the hole will expand combined with pressure being pushed through it. It probably seems like it boosts fine but the turbo will be working harder to hold pressure.

Sorry OP for chucking a spanner in the works, but best to find these things now rather than having to offer a refund later IMO.

I see what you mean i guess it will affect the boost, now you say it like that,

Its all part of the learning & now il know what to look out for in the past when looking for a turbo as i also thought that the crack wouldnt affect the boosting,

As i said the turbo is in good condition & shaft has no play, & doesnt smoke, So i guess that replacing the housing then all will be fine,

Maybe it would be worth me pulling out the sale waiting for a good housing to come along & keeping it as a spare.

ok it will probably have an effect on the boost but very little imo If the setup is standard then there will be no significant loss of pressure.
