No time to look, off out, ta'raaaa
Hey. I know this isn't Punto related but I know there are some damn knowledgable people on here when it comes to turbos and boost.
basically the engine is a 1.8 TDCi, the turbo is of the VNT type so the turbo vanes change dependant on engine rpm for low down boost etc.
Anyway, when driving I get a bit of a flat spot when i put my foot down.
I didn't even have boost before, but after checking my VNT actuator - it wasn't even moving, i ended up spraying some WD40 on the linkage and moving abit with a screwdriver and that seemed to make things better. I also blew down the vacuum pipe and boost solenoid. I then took it for a spin and omg the boost!! Sucked me into the seat.
But now I seem to have a flat spot when boosting, I think my solenoid could be duff?
Anyway, I took a video of my RPM vs Boost psi. You can clearly see the dip at around 2900rpm
However, i've been told it doesn't give a true reading when the car is stationary so im yet to try the gauge when driving but surely the boost shouldn't fluctuate so wildy when stood?
video of the boost. (and yes i know the engine is cold but i only revved it twice..)

Oops didn't realise there was a video section!! haha cheers mate.
Get a video whilst driving.
Vid whilst driving is needed, sounds normal to me though. Boost building whilst engine under more load, and levels out/decreases once the revs are up
Will probably be fine on the road. Wouldn't count on your WD40 on the VNT rod working very well for very long though, the inside of the housing will be caked with carbon causing the vanes to seize up.
