    Ford Focus Derv.

Well I bought my new car yesterday. It's a Ford Focus 1.5 3 door with the 115ps 1.8 TDCi engine. Only got the dealer pictures at the moment until I get some better ones when the weather is decent!

It needs a hefty detail so I can't wait to start on it when the weather improves.

Plans, and no doubt will happen next year are lowered on coilovers, decat and remap and maybe black alloys but not sure yet as i've only just got it.

    Pics!

Better pics to come! I'm well pleased with it though, I've seriously missed all the torque. 90 mile trip and the diesel gauge barely even moved.

Started on the intercooler today. Was pretty bad but as expected on 120,000 miles.

With the cover removed. Caked in dirt blocking the air to pass through easily.

The boost pipes were covered in oil too.

So armed with De-greaser and APC I soaked the intercooler and scrubbed it, hosing through all the dirt to give me this. Mucher better now!

I also filled the IC with turps, degreaser and WD-40 and shook it around after sealing both ends with rubber gloves. Removed the sensor and cleaned that too. When I poured the cocktail of cleaner this came out !

Put it all back on the car.

    Random pic of the car!

I needed some new tyres badly. Quite shocked at how bad they really were, can't believe I drove it home with them like this :O

    Much better!

Another pic but a really blurry one as my hands were cold.

Someone had also bodged the heated rear window, crimped the connectors really badly so thats all fixed and working too.

    Dan.

You might want to get the tracking done too.

A remap should release a few horses.

I might do but it's driving dead straight now, was pulling to the right before the tyre change.

Seen people get theirs up to 145bhp from a remap. Would be well good.

I think I need to clean the EGR, it's a bit hesitant in first gear. I imagine its going to be all choked up after 120k miles

Just done a random photoshop and this was the outcome.

    Rear lights tinted red.
    Clear repeaters
    Lowered
    Darker alloys
    Yellow calipers.
    Colour coded stuff

    Cheers mate!

Changed the air filter. Before and after!

And this was the other boost pipe absolutely caked in oily deposits.

I've also changed the fuel filter as first gear just wasn't pulling well at all, swapped it then took her for a run and it was seriously bad on power, no pull at all So after looking at the engine bay I see this....

Haha. Only gone and forgot to connect a pipe up that's where all my boost was going. Popped it back on and took her for a run. First gear is now fixed as it pulls so well! Proper chuffed.

the dealer sold you it with those tyres on it ! and you bought it! oh well. we all make mistakes. decent car the tdci. anyway dont assume that just because its not pulling to the left or the right or that your steering wheel is central that the tracking is bang on otherwise them tyres could be gone on one side in just a few thousand miles.
