Set a new none nitrous personal best at york this weekend.

Started the day with a 13.78 on the first run beating my old 13.85

Second run I managed a 13.67 1.4bar boost

Did a few more runs in the right lane as it was the 0-60 lane for the day.

Result 0-60 5.1 seconds - Not bad

Head gasket went in a spectacular fashion on about the sixth run..
White smoke pluming from the wheel arches etc, 4" split in the top rad hose and a jet washed engine bay.

Those £12 ebay head gaskets have a limit of about 230hp

for front wheel drive thats fantastic - a master at getting the power onto the track and not whizzing it away up the wall.

Its interesting also that considering Pete is probably the best at launching a car up the strip, hes on a glued surface and the car is setup to drag that its 0-60 is an impressive 5.1seconds.

So the next time some burk posts "This GT will toss off an M3, M5, Veyron, F22 etc" We'll know the truth.

Pete, why no NOS? Just not filled up? Do you have a good estimate of current output? Do you still use this car on the roads much?

Current output 218hp, 182hp at the wheels at just less than 1.4 bar boost.

I expected a lot of runs and I like to try and beat on and off gas times.

Using an online perfomance calculator and inputting various data that I have gathered it said I was capable of a 13.6 no gas, 13.2 on a 25hp shot and a 12.999 on a 50 shot, I was testing to see if it was right.

Over a year ago I was using 1.6 bar and a 50 shot of gas to get 13.6's

I need to go pick up the car from york tonight and get the head off to find out what happened. If it went at the top of no 2 cylinder then I suspect that the block I have is not flat, if not the the cheap gasket is to blame.

Nice times! Proves that gts can do good 0-60 times ! Hope to see you getting under 13s with some nos and some under 5s 0-60s.. I guess your used to it blowing a hg now I couldn't personally deal with that.
