You need some headwork in order to fit...
ie increase the combustion chamber volume in order to lower compression ratio else the cr is going to be pretty high...
Would a 1.6 head go straight on a gt block??? With over sized valves there's one on eBay says it's a gt head, I asked the guy and he said it's a 1.6 that would go on a gt?? Is this true anyone know???

Technically it fits, but wouldnt work right away.
What do you mean it wouldn't work straight away?
There is the EGR valve that needs sorting.
Compression ratio will be all over the shop.
Suitable HG.
Its not really a good solution, considering the number of 1.4 SOHC heads that will go better.
There's no egr valve on the head, I though the egr valve went around from the exhaust to the inlet and never went through the head
I bought one from a 1.6 the ever can be blanked off with a metal plate and a decent gasket but when i asked I was told the head diesnt clamp diwn properly between cylinders 2&3 once bolted on I think without actually trying it you will never know! Everyone has different opinions but how many have tried it??????????
OK, quick point...
Why not jut take the DOHC from a coupe engine? I mean its not from the correct engine but might fit and work with abit of effort!
FOOKSAKE!
the is 2-3 types of 1.6 litre head.
-sporting head has only EGR valve too, Tipo/Tempra heads not
-non_flat
-flat
you can use 1.6 head only when the head is flat as GT3 heads are
when it has a ~1.6mm deep negative combustion is not OK for you, because the diameter of it is around 83-84mm bui your bore is just 80.5mm, so the headgasket would be not round-around clamped rightway
but 1.4 litre GT or non_GT head can be used on 1.3-1.4-1.5-1.6 engines, because head has the same or smaller negative combustion, so the headgasket would clamped OK with the head
