It might be good for 500+ but I don't even think you would get that out of the 1900 16v tbh

Obviously tho there only good if mapped properly

Dunney be silly, of course you can. It's just an advanced form of VVT. Look up ex-ctr's project in the SXOC. He is a work colleague of mine and will be running a system that is practically the same as VTEC on an SR20DET.

craig any engine will make 500bhp if you have a bigger enough turbo and can rev the bollocks of it.

Nissan's NeoVVL system on the SR16VE and SR20VE is almost the same as the VTEC, just it switching the exhaust cam on different rpm as the intake cam. VTEC switching both cams at the same rpm.
Nissan SRxxVE has two injectors per cylinder, the ECU also has 2x4 outputs.
But both system has in high lift mode around 290deg profile as i remember, not so high
Nissan also had in the mid '80 electronically managed variable valve timing system, further as Honda cam out with the VTEC

Many have tried to copy the VTEC system, but none are as good. This is fact, not opinion. Of course, similar systems work, but none deliver the same results.

I'm struggling to think of a cheque book car from here other than Hans' from 10 years ago?! Most of the "modern greats" are self-built
If you have any car care related questions, ask me in the Cleaning/Detailing section.
