If one wheel hit a bump differently to the other then surely having a brace there would indeed make it feel strange/possibly dangerous? I dont know really, give it a try though Ash, could be good
Am I missing something, I was led to believe that a strutbrace's job was to improve the rigidity of the body reducing roll and thus handling through cornering? how would reinforcing the rigidity of your rear axle do that?

im with db 9208 , think a trditional top strut mount would be better , the problem with the punto is body flex and the rear beam is VERY unlikely to flex as most of the give is in the shocks/springs and subframe mounts , go for poly mounts and a top brace and if that dont handle well enough then maybe a punto is not for you !! best luck mate , Owen
Was just simply an idea. Will defiantly give the top one a go. Also the bottom would be hard to cope with as of clearance with speed bumps. Cheers for comments tho.
i have fitted my mk2 a rear strut brace like this
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
and it really works...
has anyone fitted and upper c pillar bar?
i am thinking of making one
to mine it works... i have tested it in corse...
the chassis behind after the bar was not only follow the car it was steering with the front and it is sure working cause if you see it is fitted where the sits was and it is in chassis
On the Mk1 it's definitely pointless. The inner wheel arches are far too flexible. The top rear seat belt mounts though... Different story.
