Exhaust backfiring at 8300 was by "junkyard" fuel pump from Volvo V6 K-Jetronic, now I fitted a Bosch 044, but stock Punto GT clutch is spinning, I must fit a ceramic one.

    @ Neil + Arda

    Do a search

This engine is a cheap project , from junkyard, from Tempra SX 1.6, machined stock pistons (engine Kms I don´t know, near 120.000Kms) to drop the CR to 7,37:1. Rc Racing 440cc injectors (small , them works more than 100% of Duty Cycle), Megasquirt MS-1, big cam from Cat Cams near 300º in. duration, 11,75 lift, turbo is KKK K27.2 from a IVECO 7.7 liter Diesel engine (remember I´m very poor in money, I´m not working since more 1 year ago)) A/R of ex. is 15cm2 equal to 1,05 A/R,
3" complete exhaust, big Volvo FMIC, 2 oil coolers from Opel Frontera (oil is EVER cold, at 60º), water radiator from Reny Safrane 2.2 DT, throttle body 64mm from Opel Omega 2.6 Dual Ram..2,5" IC tubes...bigger cylinder head ducts to 31-31,5mm, 39,5mm in. valves, stock Uno Turbo ex. valves...Crespo inner valve springs...
Clutch and fly is from Punto GT 215mm, as the front disc brakes and calipers 257mm.
1.05 A/R is huuuuuuuuge Impressive that is works on a 1600ccm with this results

Thanks TurboAndre by that old post..

After that specs I fitted Iapel forged pistons (87mm 1.602cc), changed the cylinder head by another with bigger ducts (about 32mm), fitted 650cc RC injectors (now working at more than 80%).
CR is now 8:1, cylinder head was reinforced opening the combustion chamber until the water passages, and the refill with aluminium welding, then resurfacing it, to prevent bent under pressure, but the water circuit gets some press, I must open the cap of the bottle a bit and open the top purger screw of the radiator.Problem can be the head gasket....

Best ET Saturday was 13,82 at 184Km/h (8300rpm in 3 gear with Toyo R888 195/50-15).
Sunday was 13,87, the fuel pump was working a bit poor.

Car is not very quick in 1/4 mile, the KKK K27.2 takes time to push it, I must start at 7000rpm launch control but the tyres spins and lost traction.A smaller turbo should be better.

I not go now to dyno, but I think power can be 300-310HP at 1,5 bar, with 1,75 bar can be 330HP.
One time I boost at 2 bar, that was crazy, I was at full throttle in 3 gear and when it goes at 6800rpm (150 real Km/h) the wheels becames to spins in dry road, front nose of the Uno was side to side of the road, but one water radiator side cap broke by water press.

    Next engine I´m building is a 1.885 16V with GT3076 AR.63. hoping 450HP.

    Hope understand my "English".

13,82 is a really good time!

Change the A/R 1.05 to A/R .64 if it is possible and with 8300rpm you will be really fast.

I think you need 1st a better traction (semi-slick "E" tyres and/or LSD), with 300BHP you must run now mid or high 12sec times on 1/4...

OK Hobi, another time I want fit drag slicks in 15" or Rallye slicks as Michelin N01, soft rubber.

The 996 with street tyres made 12,90 best ET, but I dont know if was stock power or chipped.

Has been my first experience in 1/4 mile......

    Thanks......
