Following on from the ideas about a few simple questions - I think this would work really well if it could be implemented.
For example I signed onto aa forum the other day and when registering you had to put basic information in. Then it asked you a very simple question (although I guess was for validation more than anything).
Maybe something along the lines of : What is your primary intended use for the forum? etc.
Just having to do that would put alot of non-serious people off anyway, so its a win win.
My primary use of this site is to create panic, chaos, and disorder..
Thinking about it, as a Non punto owner the biggest draw to me would be
a) a decent member base as already mentioned
&
b) a good base of daily chats and discussions going on, I keep going back to the teg forum due to some great members and daily banter and chat threads about cars in general and off topic.
Obviously a hard thing to define and requires effort to maintain but worth it...
