    Organising a track day

Me and my friends were talking about this and we thought it would be a wicked idea to organise a track day doesnt matter what car you own just would be fun to drive round a track in the gt

Does anyone have any ideas on prices and places we can do it?

i took a look at silverstone looks like a good place

Wondering if anyone would be up for it?

Would need a fair few to keep costs reasonable. If you just want to try the GT on track i'd recommend a shorter session like at an action day at castle coombe. I dont think a GT would survive an entire trackday day

i'd be up for it sean. we could see who's car last the longest before falling apart. i'd give mine about half an hour.

lots of tracks require you to have a racing licence to do this so you would need to look into it a bit.

Castle coombe do various trackdays throughout the year, same as a lot of tracks do. The action days are put on a few times a year and offer short sessions at affordable prices and are open to any driver/car. Next one is in September i think.

AFAIK you don't need a race license for a track day, however you will need insurance which covers you for track use (not cheap)

you can run the risk, but what if you stuff your punto into a nicely restored E-type Jag?

Then **** has happened. You dont need insurance, its not a requirment, if you stacked it into that E-type then its tough ****, not your responsibility to cough up. Its a risk you take on a track.

Dont need a race license though you will need a drivers license, OBV.

    Helmets are a requirement.

Id be up for coming to a group session, maybe not at Combe though as cost me £100 in fuel to get there and back at least.

A full open pit at somewhere like Cadwell park can be had for as little as £80.
