iPhone 4 Unlock?

Not going for an iPad then? Apple's iWhatevers are, IMO, hugely overpriced "gizmos", although I did quite like the original Macintosh, years ago. Maybe the iPhone 4 is coming to be more reasonably priced, but... you're still locked into a niche market. Everyone makes their own decisions, though, of course.

No less than via iPhone and cellular. The distinctions between different "networks" for voice, image and data traffic are thorougly blurred these days. It's all packetised, switched, stored-and-forwarded between various end- and mid-point "addresses".

Jailbreaking slows the phone down... BIG TIME!

I never experienced that with my 3GS. It ran just the same as it did before jailbreaking.

I won't hesitate to do my iPhone 4 when a jailbreak is released.
