I'm certain I've answered these kind of questions before I would have brought my detailing stuff to AI but I didn't have room

Just looking for a few suggestions of products to buy really.
I'm not really into detailing that much and not got a big budget, but want to get at least the basics of every stage.
I have a range of various polishes / waxes etc at the minute, it's more the equipment i'm concerned with.
I need...
Pre-wash: Was thinking snowfoam type stuff? Not got a pressure washer but i know you can get hose attachments etc for it, not sure what i'm looking for though.
Cleaning: Only have 1 bucket, was going to go with 2 + grit guards. Don't own a wash mitt either, only a sponge so suggestions?
I have Supagard and Autoglym shampoo but open to ideas.
Drying: Picked up a waffleweave drying towel from AI but not tried it yet.
Pre-polish: Was considering some clay, i remember seeing one before that worked without lube and just water but can't for the life of me remember what it is!
Polish / waxing etc: Got so many assorted products for this and also picked up a Dodojuice supernatural buffing cloth at AI. Need something to apply it though?
If i've missed anything out, do tell

Is the clay bar made by Sonus? or Bilt hamper? I can't remember either the name but I do know what you are talking about
I would reccomend the megs starter kit for claying as it's fairly cheap and a great product (for a newb like me anyway).
As for a black car, AG Extra Gloss Protection works amazingly after a few coats of super resin polish, then finishing off with a wax.
I think the first priority would be a wash mitt for starters though? They make such a difference!
I am currently using Chemical Guys Maxi Suds 2 and it's pretty damn awesome for washing, I used to use AG shampoo and conditioner but felt there wasn't enough suds for my liking although you can feel the lubricity of it working.
I'm going to try Born To Be Mild when this runs out though as I've been told good things about it. Dan
I've got some BTBM and it's a great shampoo.
Clay can be made but lots of companies. I have Sonus and EliteCarCare clay.

Most clays should be ok with just water. But you could just use a soapy water mix.

It's quite amazing the difference before and after claying. Used slay for the first time a few weeks ago and wow!
I'll sell u a brand new 3m clay if ur after one.
I was talking to the dodo juice guys at ai, and they were handing out some handy tips
I bought there £30 kit and will be trying that out on the missus car 1st, seeing as she's winging I havnt done it in 3 months, lol
They recomended megs gold class shampoo, rinse, whilst car is still wet use clay bar, then seal with a decent wax (megs nxt wax, ag extra gloss protection)
Or do as I did and buy their kit and follow the steps
Cheers for the tips, Sicskate how much did you want for it?
And yea i got some purple haze and a buffing cloth from them.
